Black Boots & Beads

These boots were definitely worth blogging about. Boots, heels, I just don't know. Those aren't heels but maybe you could call them claws. They have zippers up the side and laces up the front. As dangerous as they look, they're sort of fun to walk in because it's not actually a heel. They also have cheetah print on the inside of the heel as you can see in the third picture from the top. I made the piece of art (last picture) out of beads, paint sticks, crushed shells, sand, string, and little beads on canvas. Back to the shoes- they'd be great with jeans, super red lipstick, a white wool turtleneck, and a fur coat. I would definitely wear that.

Mix & Match

I used these items from online (no I don't actually own them) and mixed and matched and- Wala! Yes, there are a lot of prints- if you were wondering. But that's in style, as a matter of fact many outfits at New York Fashion Week are printed. And I love prints- so here is the outfit! The links to where you can buy them are below. This is supposed to be one whole outfit, so just imagine it on one person!

The blue blazer is from Pink Ice- a new store I've discovered. (Here). The earrings are from Girl Props (here)-if you've never been on it, I definitely recommend it. It's all accessories so you're bound to find something you like. The cigarette jeans are from Urban Outfitters-(here). The ring is also Girl Props- (here). And the shoes (I love them!) are from Urban Outfitters also- (here).I love this outfit and I would definitely wear it!

Rainbows in Fashion

Endora is wearing a fashionable-rainbow dress- in this episode of bewitched. Notice her earrings, bells? And her necklace, pearls? No, maybe not, just metal balls. And her eyeshadow-hey, who can't say that's not in style? Well, anyone can. But I think it's nice, in a costume-y sort of way. I think it would be a hit on any fashion runway today- to convey a more dramatic message. I like the stripes on her dress too. I like big stripes, small stripes are good too, but, well. I just like big stripes, for now. Her dress goes out at the bottom, reminding me of an upside down balloon. I like it, not only does it look nice, but it drapes beautifully. Peachie!

Too long or not too long?

Too Long or not too long? That is the question. Are long skirts really too long? No way. Think hippie, bohemian? Okay, well, they're in style. Before you know they’ll be everywhere, maxi skirts? Totally.
Bright colors on maxi skirts, just say no. Seriously.
Take a look. Darker colors are better, stick to brown,
dark blue, and maroon.
Long skirts + wedges = danger. No joke. You’ll be tripping over the edges of your skirt. Long skirts + flats/sandals = better.
Now I don’t care if the picture above has wedges, I STILL THINK ITS DANGEROUS. Only wear wedges and maxi skirts when the maxi skirt isn’t below your ankle. Most maxi skirts will be though, so as I said, stick with flats. I’m sure they made maxi skirts and dresses for people (hippies) to wear barefooted. But I don’t know.
If you're going modern bohemian, you’ll need bangles, and sandals. And jewelry. I’m pretty sure you need all kinds of jewelry. Modern Bohemian is sure to be in style. Long skirts, flowey pants, jewelry, and lace. You have just got to love lace tops, but that’s another discussion. With long skirts you should wear blouses, not t-shirts, although crop-tops work too, blouses that are white. Other colors are kind of hard to mix and match. The good thing is, with white blouses you can mix and match and they go with anything. On American Apparel, they have lots of nice tops. Sometimes buttons down the middle isn’t the way to go. Maxi skirts have patterns as you can see, flowers, stripes, squigly things. Everything. Personally I like the flowers because they're just peachie. I’ve been trying to get my friends to wear long skirts forever but of course they won’t. I DO wear them though, they’re in style. Only in summer, trust me, in winter I’ve tried with stockings. Does not work. Seriously. Even with boots its hard to pull it off. Just stick to summer, now is the best time to be hunting up the right skirt for you and getting your outfit ready for summer. Trust me. You won’t regret it.

Finding Treaures Where You'd Least Expect Them

I found this great ring today,at a cool vintage store that I've never been in to in my life. It's called Jillery, 88 East 10th St. I've always wanted to go in, but I guess I just never had the courage, so I went in with a friend and we had a great time. This ring caught my eye and I just had to buy it. Only $12, what a bargain! I could seriously wear it anywhere, it is that stylish. I love the little paint streaks that all blend well together. Not sure if it's completely vintage because I'm sure I saw the same one for $4 extra a couple shelves away. The little jewels at the top make it so that I can wear it to any fancy occasion. That's why I love shopping vintage, you will never know where it can take you. And who doesn't want a ring with a colorful peacock on it?
